Informing the school of your thoughts or feelings with regards to its response 1
Reference
This scenario involves a nursery school class for 1-year-olds in which one child has been bitten by another child over a period of about 4 months. The teachers have explained what has happened and apologized to the parent at pick-up time, but after her child has been bitten by the other child for numerous days in a row, the parent has decided to write a message in the renrakucho notebook. The parent has selected the renrakucho option because direct discussions with the teachers have yielded nothing more than the same explanations and apologies. In addition, by including dates with the renrakucho messages, the messages also serve as a record of when the problem started and how long it has continued.
In the following model, the parent refrains from criticizing the school or teachers, but instead conveys her desire that something be done for her child by stating how sad she is to see the bite marks on her child's face, and by emphasizing how much her child loves the school and his/her school friends.
