Informing the school of lateness, with a specific reason (when you are unsure of the arrival time) – When you are unsure whether your child will be in time for the school/bento lunch
If your child will be late to school, you may inform the school of this with a specific reason. It is not necessary to inform the school of what time your child will be arriving if you are unsure of this. If you are not sure whether your child will be in time for the school/bento lunch, it would be best to mention this. Confirm with your preschool whether they would like you to telephone them when you have a better idea of what time your child will be arriving at school. If you are unaware that your child will be late to school until the night before or the day of the late arrival, it is preferable to telephone or otherwise directly contact the preschool.
If your child is late to school because of a visit to the doctor, you may discuss your child's condition or the doctor's advice with your child's teachers when you take your child to school. This will allow you to share information with the teachers, who will be able to pay special attention to your child if necessary.
